Zip Wire Support Dimensions

When you are looking at buying and fitting a Zip Wire, the first thing that you need to consider is how are you going to fix the Zip Wire in place. Normally if at all possible this would be between two trees, however this is not always possible and the alternative way is by building a couple of supports.

This page is here to show you a number of different supports that can be built very simply for use with your Zip Wire. Perhaps one of the easiest ways to build a Support is the simple A-frame Support which can be easily built using roundwood with a diameter of between 140 - 160mm.

As you can see a launch ramp is quiet common either as part of the structure or as a separate structure from the main structure. If installing a Zip Wire run on a slope of any description, quite often a ramp will not be required but this depends on the height of the crossbar support.

We have put on this page a number of pictures of Supports with one picture showing the dimensions of an example of a Zip Wire End Support Structure with launch ramp. These dimensions are in inches except for the 12ft high measurement.
